A month ago I thought I had a chance for my best bean crop ever. After only.4” of rain since July 29, and numerous days over 90, with more heat coming, they are going to be average at best, maybe below. But according to you with your vast agronomic knowledge (still calling the corn disease black tar), the crop was made July 1, weather after that has no effect on final yield.
Walked into a late planted corn field Friday (May 13) and the ears were tipped at 50% milk line. Tell me, Mr. Agronomy, is that corn going to yield to the potential it had on July 1? Has to, since the crop was made then, right?
