We have had a few instances like you asked about. One was a tractor that was supposed to come in July, which would have been in plenty of time to pull grain cart. The tractor didn’t come in until we were 80% done with fall harvest. We got to “use” our old one until the new one came in. It was an absolute lemon. We had to drag it on the semi trailer when they brought the new one. Trade difference was the same.

Also had a deere planter on order a few years back. Deere’s EOP is usually really good about insuring your planter is in before spring. The Covid year set them back so we got to plant our corn with our old planter for no additional money. That made what was already a pretty good deal even better.
