Paxton, IL | I'm not convinced any new auger head is much better than a good 1020. My vote would be rebuild your 1020 with whatever it takes to make it right, or find one in better shape worth rebuilding. You know what you have, how it works, and what you can expect out of it.
Drapers are nice, and if you find one you feel is worth buying, I certainly wouldn't advise against it. If you're ok working on stuff, I think a lower priced draper that you put some time and work into might not be a bad investment. Drapers are a whole different animal and work much better when you understand how they work and how to adjust them. The more time you spend working on one, the better acquainted you'll get with it. | |
