West Cen, IL | I would give the heifer a chance. Had a great mother and kept one of her heifer calves for a replacement. Her first calf was
abandoned and had to pen them together. Second time had twins and only accepted one. Over the course of several years she was
never a good mother, had 3 sets of twins and never claimed both. Final straw was when she was about 9 yrs old she had calf on a hot day,
left it for the creek and never returned to it. The trait can pass both ways. | |
