Friend of mine worked at a dealership, and they did the free oil changes, I think it was for a year, or 20,000 miles. He worked for a Dodge dealer, and they had the same policy, use Mopar oil and Mopar filter for the changes. I asked why only Mopar oil and filters. His answer was very straightforward.
90% of warranty claims happen in the first year of ownership. He said if there was an issue, and all service work was done at a Dodge dealership, using Mopar fluids and filters, warranty claims went really smooth. He commented that when a customer had an engine failure when an oil filter leaked, and it wasn't a Mopar filter, it was a huge headache getting the engine replacement covered. | |
