Mine also piles up trash in center. I do not know the fix for that. I also have issues with the auger getting full and slipping the clutch at times. This may be related to the trash buildup in center.

I have read about modifying the knife rolls to help with trash problem but haven't got brave enough to do it yet. Everyone says it helps quite a bit.

There is a diagram showing where and how much to cut for the window that hopefully someone will post

That helps, but it doesn't cure it completely...but does help. I have never had anyone upset about that modification at all. If I HAD to keep a 3000 Hugger, I would do the Gleaner snapping roll modification, and Calmer's deck plates. I don't see the point of a Calmer knife roll unless you WANT to chop your stalks. Most customers here run something on their stalks, so the knife rolls are a waste of money for no more feeding improvement I've seen.

I would still tell anyone to trade off their 3000 header, ESPECIALLY a 12 row. That auger is a performance killer with a 12 row machine. I get it, it's a $115K corn head...but it's going on a $250K - $500K combine...

If you put a 3312 on an R52 you will be a happier customer than putting a 3000 on an S98...
