Cost to rebuild a 6 to 12 row used planter significantly less tha rebuilding a 24 row. Plus you need the tractor with the horses and hydraulics to run it. Still many useable Deere kinze and white small planters around and parts are still easy to come by.



But OTOH a 24 row planter lasts a lot longer before it’s due for a rebuild again, and today you can get 30 year old row crop tractors that have the weight, power, and hydraulics to run them.
