EC GA | There is some benefit to a design where threshing and grain/straw separating are two separate processes aka Lexion or Deere CTS. The rotary machines attempt to do both with one rotating assembly which can create some compromises. Combines perform the three processes of threshing, separating, and cleaning. The Lexion design optimizes all three at the expense of a complicated machine with a lot of moving parts. The single rotor machines are so much simpler, but may take a bit more finessing of concaves, grates, and rotor speed to get optimal performance. | |
