Build a pond just far enough away from the house. They seem to really enjoy the shore line. And believe it or not, the two day old babies can swim darn well. They don't jump in without purpose, but if they are forced in will swim out a ways then back to the bank and out they come as if it was no big deal. If a big old bass does not get them.
