The separator has to be on -> grain fills compartment until it covers the eye sensor inside compartment -> auger runs to empty compartment and make room for a new sample. When you disengage the separator, it should run the auger for a few seconds to clean it out.
If the moisture isn't changing, it's almost always a blown fuse. They are typically inline in the harness back by the moisture sensor itself. It's a good idea to pull the pins and pull the little auger out to make sure the compartment is clean. Typically the fuse blows when wet material packs up inside the compartment and make the auger harder to turn.
It's possible either the eye or motor has a problem, but much less common. | |
