Malta, Illinois | Yes things were a lot rosier around here in mid August than they were last year. Last half of August and first half of September have been another story. Parts of the corn belt has some very nice rains about the second or third week of August. A lot of areas did not and that is where the stress is really going to show on the yield monitor. For those who got rain in August yields are going to be pretty strong. To me that equates to a good crop but nowhere near what the USDA is figuring on. | |
