I purchased a 2011 8310RT with 8200 hours from Leidview in Osage IA. New motor from JD at 6500. Had to have transmission work done at 8600 hours which I had the tractor shipped back to Leidview and they treated me very fairly. I send it in every year for a JD inspection and have had no other major issues. Gets used for all the planting, cultivating, grain cart, and some work on a high-speed disc. Currently sitting at 10,200 hours. I don't think i'd be afraid to do it again if needed. However, there could be some deals on lower houred tractors over the next couple years. I don't know that I'd be afraid of the 2010 if you are getting it for less than $70k.

Thanks! Nice to know that if you have a checkbook and a sense of humor (requirements for shopping in this price/hour range) then it can work out. Sometimes, anyway.

I agree about maybe waiting to buy. Maybe I will. But wife would like something a little easier to drive on grain cart. So seeing we we can humor her without destroying the cash flow on a 400 irrigated acre operation. I've been sitting on sidelines during the huge run up. Now out kicking tires.

If you can, I’d wait and watch BigIron/AuctionTime/Facebook over the winter. I’ve noticed higher houred 8000s are coming down some. Lot better cab than a soundgard and comfortable to run. Unless you are set on a track machine, then you’d maybe be better off with an R.
