I live near the RV capital of the world. I see hundreds of pickups delivering new campers every year. There are as many if not more GM trucks pulling campers than any other brand. So I'm not so sure I'd say they are built for real work. You're entitled to your opinion but I'll boldly say you're wrong and those guys pulling campers for a living prove it.
