What does the "backshaft" RPM show in the combine. It should be around 490 to 500 RPM. If the variable belt is too tight it will run too fast. I use a 1/8" drill bit to check the space between the lower front sheaves. There should be a slight drag on the bit when the spacing/belt tension is correct. Otherwise check the diameter of the pulley on the left end of the backshaft on the 213 and compare it to the 218. I don't think there should be any difference in size.
