Smaller block of land use what ever --High speed or what ever you can find
Go over it till it's smooth how ever many passes it takes --make a checker board with the tillage equipment don't follow the same swath
I see you're in MO probably about the same latitude as us ---
Then we would seed some kind of CC or it would wash over winter
