I cannot say that I have had the same experience, as I use an electric opener. I did have a Hamilton-Beach type that cut the rim off-zero jagged edge, but it failed in 10 months: got a replacement-same results. Maybe Aldi cans did them in: no idea. O’Really liked that type that entire lid off: just wish it was durable.
I will pay attention to Aldi cans now, per your observation.
