One of our sons had his gall bladder removed last February and our second son had his gall bladder removed a couple weeks ago. Ages 33 and 31. The only other person in both my wife and my families that have had their gall bladder removed is my mother. Neither son is on a low-fat diet.
Number one son's gall bladder was infected and in really bad condition, while number two sons gall bladder was full of small stones but not infected yet. Both sons gall bladders were able to be removed by laparoscopic cholecystectomy surgery, so recovery time was minimal. Both sons are doing great after surgery and we're pretty sure number one son can now quit his acid reflux med. Knowing what we know now...number one son should have had his gall bladder removed at least a couple years ago.
