Pittsburg, Kansas | Unfortunately too late for my wife. Both of hers replaced not long before we changed diets and lost weight. But in my case just change of diet did the trick. Surgeon told me after a shot in my right knee that when the pain got too bad where I could not stand it he would do the surgery. Bone on bone just on one tiny point on one side at that point. Was getting to where I could only carry one diving tank at a time going diving (rather than carrying both mine and my wife's) and then still some pain and a little bit in the other knee but not nearly as bad. Two weeks after going on a low carb diet the pain subsided a lot and in a month it was gone. Back to carrying two tanks at a time now with no pain. The diet change healed it, and before I lost much weight. So it was the inflammation that was the main culprit like the doctor on the video said. Of course losing a hundred pounds no doubt helped long term also (I am currently down about 80 from my heaviest).
That all took place about five and a half years ago now. No knee surgery and no regular pain. Oh I have a few creaks and minor pains in various joints, after all I am five years older. But nothing compared to what it was six years ago. I cut about three ricks of fire wood the other day in one day and loaded it in a trailer for my inlaws the next day. I don't think I could even be doing that now if my diet was the same as it was six years ago. I was on 100 units of insulin in four different shots then to control my diabetes type II and for the last five and a half years have not taken insulin shots nor diabetic medicine. Because eating right I no longer need it.
Diet makes a difference.
