Subject: RE: Medicare enrollment for 2025

Hooker Twp,Ne
I called a Medicare agent the other day and found out something that I didn’t realize. First I have a medicare supplement. Not an advantage plan. The agent told me the enrollment time was mainly for advantage plan and part d changes. He said a supplement plan can be changed at any time during the year. Didn’t know that. Thought it was only during enrollment period. First question asked was about my health. Told him about my foot and he said that the issue with my foot had to be settled first before a different company would even look at me. Now if an individual has an advantage plan and wants to switch to a supplement plan and has any health issue at all it would be my guess your SOOL. The only time a supplement plan can be taken and with health issues is when one first enrolls at age 65. From what I understand. Medicare is far from perfect especially if you need longer care. First is the 100 day limit. If you go to hospital and need hospital or nursing home care and that care takes over 100 days you are now self pay. Plus there is a 60 day wait period (no hospitalization) from when you leave the hospital or nursing care and have your 100 days used before another 100day period kick in.
