| No offense, but you have drawn some lofty conclusions and have zero context. As stated in my original comment, I could certainly provide testimonies from dozens of growers. You prefer to hear from someone who doesn't sell the product, though I have no doubt that you are also the farmer that would not provide the money to conduct the trials yourself. To produce this relatively small data set cost over 70k just in product, that doesn't include time, or all the other typical inputs. Historically speaking, asking farmers to conduct trials with free product, collect season long data, and then provide accurate harvest results is a GREAT way to lose a pile of money and go out of business. This year alone I lost 19 data sets because of farmers that didn't care enough to calibrate their combine, set up their yield mapping at all, call me to bring a weigh wagon, or decided to chop the field instead of combining it as they had agreed to do.
So, feel free to share your opinion, but get off your soap box if you aren't going to collect data yourself. | |
