Subject: Standing corn taking on moisture

Michigan
Have you ever seen corn get wetter standing in the field?
Last Thursday I started a field, moisture was running 15-16%. I quit there for "reasons", and came back today, a week later. Now it's 17%
I've picked corn after rains and during the rain and not noticed an increase in moisture. Then again, this is only the second time in my life (the end of the '22 season was also dry) that I've picked 15% corn. It has always needed drying.
Yes, it rained, but not much, and it's been warm, almost 60 again today.
This goes against everything I thought I knew about corn drying.
