SW Ohio | I have run Xyway 2X2 for 2 years now on corn. I haven't done a true side by side, but where I ran out of it last year you could definitely tell by the physical appearance of the plant. It may be one of those things that does not translate to yield every year, but it may improve stalk quality so you don't have to pick it up off the ground. That is easily worth $20/acre to me. I did not find tar spot in season to any yield-robbing extent, but it must have come in late because its everywhere on the leaves as we harvested. Combine turned black too.
I put a trial out this year on soybeans. I plant beans in 30" rows, and used the corn planter to plant beans and apply the Xyway 2x2. I really didn't want it to show any gain, but it was a very consistent 5bpa in strips in the field. It was Xyway at the 15.2 floz rate and water carrier. Now it looks like I get to spend the winter adding a 2X2 system to a planter that doesn't have it, and build another seed wagon with a liquid tank on it as well | |
