Southeast WI | Every single one of these "additive" type products may have seen a positive yield response in some setting in order to be brought to market. Vast majority probably did not have extensive field testing because that is EXPENSIVE - which is exactly what a salesman told me about his product BTN+ for example over a dozen years ago. And each type of these products are in "2-7 bpa gain" arena which you are not going to tease out in side by sides unless you split a planter over many acres or put in an intense 4-6 replicate controlled plot.
The products you mention have merit, but it's in gallons per acre like the vegetable growers use it at. A local WI salesman for one of those product lines said they are ineffective at the very low agronomic rates we are confined to. By that I mean what they cost. On our veggies I can toss another 100 bucks an acre at the crop and don't blink. Try that on a poverty crop like corn or soybeans. You'll put your balance negative immediately. | |
