Yes safety first. I cringe when someone wants to start using a silo when a lot of us have grown up using them and a lot of knowledge passed down from dads. Run a blower if needing to enter for 2 weeks after filling and make sure you can feel a breeze in your face, I've seen where a wind blowing against the chute side of the silo didn't allow air flow.
Thanks for the tip. Have read quite a bit about silo gases recently, I do remember Dad always running the blower before entering the silo after filling. Also keep it running when you are up there too. |
