Being a young guy getting started I rent 100% of the ground I farm so building soil test levels is kinda unrealistic maintenance is more realistic approach for me I thought this could be a cost effective way to supply K to the plant, our P levels are all very high
I get it. Last I checked, liquid K isn't cheap. And when I was pricing white, it was a $100 a ton more than red. Then you figure your time melting if that's the route you go, plus a sprayer pass etc. If you are short, there is no doubt the best bang for the buck is to get it next to the plant. If you are going to invest $25 an acre in getting it near the plant, that would be the dollar for dollar the same as 125# of Potash broadcast at $400 a ton Potash. You will have to run the numbers and see what works for you, yours and time availability.
edit to add: If you are in the midwest, Liqui-gro would have a suspension K product. It would come with it's challenges as well.
Take care and good luck.
