Subject: RE: Sunlight and length of life

NW South Dakota
Sometime back in the early 1990's I was watching some tv show about Russian life or cooking I don't recall. There was a short little segment on sunbathing in below freezing temperatures. On sunny days these Russians would flock to this long brick wall (think windbreak) the guys would take off their jackets and shirts and the ladies would do the same only wearing a bikini. The host was asking these folks why in the world were they out sunbathing in such frigid temps. They said that they felt better after getting some sun. No one mentioned anything about vitamin D but I suspect that was what made them feel better.
