Maybe it depends a lot on location.
My wife and I attend a lot of gospel sings.
Typically, there are 3 or 4 times as many women as men, of all ages, in attendance.
If a young man attends, he is usually surrounded during fellowship hour, by young women, and also by older women who want him to meet their daughter or grand daughter.
