Subject: RE: Calibrate dry spreader for vari-rate

Ohio
I run ag leader controls. This winter we are adding scales to the cart. I made a cart for every product, it is a set gate height, density, and call number for each product. For Urea I have to different numbers one for each height based on the rate I spread. How we calibrated was the static method. We would run 500 pounds out into the skid steer bucket and we had an old scale we would just shovel it into a barrel and weight it. I maybe have went overboard with how I do it but it got me close and I will refine them in season when I get a load every time if it doesn't come close to what I spread against the weight I got. Simple algebra and I'll update the number. With the scales it'll be alot easy as I will be able to do in field calibrations and not have to do the math.
