Don’t agree with him. With a constitutional republic form of governance and a capitalististic economy banning products that are not outright fatal is not the way to handle this. Research, education and the free choice of the public should determine whether a product(or idea for that matter) is beneficial or not. A government choosing winners and losers has the potential for much more harm than the products themselves.

Having said all that I have personally chosen to limit my intake of certain seed oils. I prefer olive oil, flax oil, beef tallow and lard. For crying out loud the governments meddling in the food pyramid has led to as much or more harm than the products themselves. A well educated and informed public has little need for government involvement in their everyday lives. Of course that is not what they want you to hear. They want to shout from the mountain top “I’m from the government and I am here to help!!!”.
