Not sure why it is so mystifying to farmers on here. This discussion is had over and over again. "I've done it and there aint no way they can make any money" "go for it if ya want to farm for free" comments and replies like that go on for days. For whatever reason farmers dont believe the laws of economics and free market apply to grain farming. You can't sell cans of soup or TVS like the walton family can at wal mart stores. The local lumberyard can't sell lumber and materials like the Menard family can. Do you call those men fools and jackasses like you do with the businessmen who pay landowners top dollar? You should really admit that your farming abilities don't allow you to farm as well as others. What do you do that should allow you to rent a landlords farm for less money than someone else? You dont walk into the store and buy items from the merchant who charges 3x what the guys at wally world or menards do?
