Back in a previous farm crisis, we talked to a few landowners who had rented their land to big up and coming young farmers who had offered higher rent than anyone else. They either paid a partial rent payment or in a couple cases paid nothing....the landowners listened to the guy's sad story and let the same guy rent it again the following year. I guess that's one way some guys can make the high rent/low commodity prices work.
