In your example I agree , but it’s value is not irrelevant to its roi , rent is not the only thing that contributes to roi on farmland , just like dividend is not only thing that contributes to apple stock roi , it’s market price is big big contributing factor to its roi
I never said it wasn’t a factor of its ROI. Land appreciation is certainly a component of the ground’s ROI, but the landowner’s impatience is not good reason to bully renters into paying extra every year. The landowner gets that part of the ROI when the land is sold, if they inappropriately figured on cashing in on some of that appreciation ahead of time, that’s their problem, not the renters.
