Could be a lot more genetic type diseases that would have killed off many carriers of them years ago that are now manageable to the point many can lead a somewhat normal life. Also getting rid of (or greatly reducing the effect of) smallpox and some others with 25%+ mortality rates help more with certain conditions survive longer.
100% truth here as well. Lots of babies and children survive today that didn't prior to the 1960's for sure. WW2 saw some large advancements in antibiotics and vaccines |
