Agtalk has become a depressing place. Bunch of millionaires complaining about not making any money.
Personally I have made money every year of farming over the past 20 years. Some more than others but always a profit.
Few years were probably a loss but covered up by the prior years profit shoved into the next year. Ie tax planning.
Let’s face it. Lots of risk exposure but the government has a subsidized program to minimize the risk, crop insurance.
One year I made more off of government's payments farming that the whole time I was in the military, 4.5 years.
High priced rent complaints are getting old. There is a method that can easily be solved by high school math. Just need the right equations. The right equation does not involve making money every year but making it to the bottom of the ninth and hitting a grand slam.
Food for thought.
Most on this forum are out of touch with reality. Too many have not had to work a real job outside of row crop farming to understand just how good they have it. The negativity does get old. I assume that's why posters who actually added value to this forum have all moved on.
Do you have dead minnows or smelt in that lunch bag?
