SE IL | I know it’s not what you asked, but I always question how much “help” kids should get when they are adults. The less you work for something the less you appreciate it. Younger generations seem more and more entitled (not all of them by any means), surely well off parents doing more and more for their kids isn’t the reason? Teacher I know has said that the big problem kids in class are the ones who came from having everything and not being told “no”. Of course there are great plans to help reduce tax and save for kids college, however couldn’t they money be invested elsewhere and the kids get it as the parents pass. Yes college and everything is much more expensive these days, but there are opportunities abound. I’m under 40 and my first job was 6.50 and hour, minimum wage is more than double that now! We all want to help our kids but sometimes I have to rethink to myself what”help” really means. | |
