Technically you're very wrong. SS tax maxes at 168k income so high earners pay SS on a fraction of their income. The socialists always use this fact in their "tax the rich" and "fair share" nonsense.

Medicare tax has no limit first $250,000 is 2.9% over $250,000 is 3.8% . So those with higher income pay more in Medicare tax and then when they get on Medicare get charged higher Medicare premium than the base charge if they have higher income.
