| My mom stuck all out birthday money in an Edward Jones’s account. When I got home from my honeymoon a month after graduating college she handed me a check for it, it was about 10k. Made the down payment on our first home on a FHA mortgage.
That was a huge blessing at the time. We had learned to manage money in college and had good jobs lined up. Being able to start our life owning a home put us way ahead vs having to rent and save up a down payment. | |
