what would YOU have in buying good land nearby, clearing it, and adding the irrigation? I live in American with my head in the sand in regards to african land values but $500 seems like a steep cost per acre to rent. Maybe financing isn't available in all reality so that may not be a feasible option for you at this time?
$500/ha is $200/ac so much more realistic. I agree if it was $500/ac that's a lot of money
