jackson county WI
Here we use a mixer and feed everyday. Mostly Holstein. I have been contemplating this same thing but our bin site is 2 miles from the feed yard and I can’t give up the bin space for a years worth of shell corn. The way we are set up I can feed 300hd in under a hour with an old 770 and a reel mixer. Not to brag but I can put 3.5lbs a day on with silage and hmsc, I don’t feel there is no need for all the extra drying and handling of the corn. It all just depends on how a guy is set up.
