| So I was camp tender for granddad. Chopped wood, packed water from milk cans to camp. Fed horses and saddled them for him and myself. Also cooked supper, gramps cooked breakfast for us while I fed dogs and horses in morning. I also pulled sheep camp with truck following sheep as we trailed to Forest. I spent my summers helping my grandparents in Utah, when my parents lived Oregon. I think I read every condensed hardback book ever printed of Reader's Digest. Grandmother was a school teacher and loaded camp up with books, also got a few comic books when they brought groceries to camp. Was good times. | |
