NW IA | This is very true. I need to walk past the pens and have "eyes on" the self feeder critters a couple times a day. It is tempting just to head for the field etc. as long as the feeders are full.
With Holsteins innovative attempts at self murder it's especially important. This past week I had one with his head stuck in a gate in a pen where I've had calves for more than a decade without a problem.
