Subject: RE: Would Feed End Users Benefit from 45Z regs?

Year or so ago I sat through an Ag economist presentation on the grain markets concerning 45z and he talked some about the possible unintended consequences pertaining to the livestock industry.

His take was that soybean meal was going to get cheap (real cheap) as a result of the increased demand for soy oil but the increased demand for soybeans was likely to take acres (bushels) away from corn production driving the price of corn higher.      His opinion was that the net effect for hogs was going to be little change in the feed cost to finish a hog.      He of course had a whole lot of numbers to show the reasoning for why he said this, none of which I remember much of.
