EC SD | Land has been an excellent investment!! This is why the majority of my assets are still in farmland... The question I had, and answered in my own personal way was: Should ALL of my assets be in land???
Yes, I had to pay some taxes, but under 20% of the sale amount. So approximately 80% went to stocks, and after three years of 20% gains, that portion is now worth 70% more. Do the math, the cap gain taxes were not material in this scenario...
Timing wise, the year of 2022 was a big negative year in stocks - minus 18%. In hindsight, I don't think that was the ideal year to make my asset re-allocation, but it worked out fine over time because the last two years have been great gains. | |
