Subject: RE: Grain Sorghum for cattle feed

Kingdom of Callaway - Fulton, Mo 65251

I have a friend that does this every year.  He combines the grain and stores it in a bin from which he runs it through a grinder mixer during the winter as needed.

He also mows and bales up the milo stubble.  Sometimes we wet wrap it.  I buy several hundred bales a year from him and feed it to cows through a TMR.  We also use it for bedding if put up dry.

He then often plants barley behind it which he also bins and feeds to cattle.  The barley comes off a couple of weeks earlier than wheat does around here which is nice for getting double crop beans in earlier.

Some years there is a good market for milo for bird seed.
