Been around concrete waterers with weep or pee valves for probably 30 to 40 years now. I don't think I've ever had one clog up.

Come near having it get so cold and windy that it freezes the top layer of water all the way through overnight and then the float doesn't drop down to refill with water. That is probably my biggest complaint.

I use to think the concrete waterers weren't any good until I started being around other waterers. Now I think they are really good if they are in the right location - sunlight and out of the wind - and plenty of dirt on them.
