Only positive to a Cobbett is 99.9% of the time after you chop the ice off of them there will be water underneath. Kind of like a pond.
Chopping ice on ponds is cool until the cattle end up on the ice in spring and a bunch fall through and then you remember that cows can’t fall into a cobett and drown…..
And, once the pond ice gets thick, you’re chopping 1/2 the thickness of the pond ice each day and scooping the ice chunks with a shovel and invariably end up with wet gloves or heaven forbid you slip and end up in cold water over the tops of your 5 buckles. | |
