How long of auger and what product are you augering?

Unless its a really long auger (15'+) or a product that augers hard (some sort of mineral) you shouldn't have any problems with a 1 hp motor starting a full 4" auger.

Most of my problems are related to worn belts, loose belts or wet belts.    Wet or loose belts quickly become worn belts.   Worn belts soon need to be replaced.
