| I agree with everyone else, sheep will definitely eat a fair amount of snow, although I have no experience using it as a means of water supply. During and shortly after a storm when the hay in the bunks is full of snow, they seem to drink a lot less. Sheep don't seem to require as much water as cattle, especially with dry ewes in cold weather.
It's hard to tell for sure from the picture how steep the banks are to that pond, and I have no experience with watering from ponds, but with sheep being the way they are, I'd be more concerned about one skiing down the slope and drowning (it will be the nicest one, too). | |
