I used to run a couple hundred lbs of alfalfa through the artsway with a 3/4 screen
Just flake it off and slide it in.
I'm not sure how well it would like grass hay out of a round bale.
I think it might not go very well..
Dry square bale alfalfa and long stem grass hay are two different things
Square hammers and a feed roller are your friends.
And yes, have the grinder half full of feed.
What is the process for using hay in a grinder mixer?
