SWC TX | Honestly, for farmland, its hard to know. It very rarely comes to market - and most always sold privately between families. In the last few years there has been maybe handful of places that actually got listed on open market and they ranged from $2,500 to $5,000/ac on the asking price. Some is even more than that when you get closer to San Angelo for the development potential. Nothing worse than seeing some beautiful land chopped up to put houses on....especially when the owners of these new houses with a few acres don't know how to take care of something that size. Just turns into a overgrown, junky looking eyesore.
I think you're right about being able to look it up at the court house, now that you mention it.
